Firefox includes pop-up blocking, tab-browsing, integrated Google search, simplified privacy controls, a streamlined browser window that shows you more of the page than any other browser and a number of additional features that work with you to help you get the most out of your time online. This program offers all of the functionality youd expect from a Web browser through a clean and familiar interface.
Pros Site optimization: If youre looking for an alternative to Safari on your Mac, you may find that some sites load more quickly and function better through Firefox. Especially if you have trouble with certain sites you visit a lot in Safari or another browser, it may be worth it to try out Firefox to see if it can run them more smoothly. Or if you want to visit a site thats not displayed, you can use the search bar located in the upper right-hand corner of the interface. Using the designated search box seems to be the only option for completing a keyword search. Poor tile loading: The tiled screen with recent pages visited didnt load terribly thoroughly, and most tiles didnt contain images of the actual sites they described. They also didnt always take us to where we were trying to go. Bottom Line Firefox for Mac is a good option to try if you have trouble accessing certain sites through Safari or other browsers. However, because of the issues we experienced during testing, we still prefer Safari or Chrome for everyday surfing on the Mac.
